Queens Park Rangers Football Club (Shortly called as QPR) is an English professional football club, based in White City, Hammersmith and Fulham, west London.
In 1882, the former boys of Drop Street Board School laid down the foundation of Queens Park Rangers. The boys were the member of St Jude's Institute and they used this as the club’s headquarter. At start, the club was known as St Judes but got the name of Queens Park Rangers, when it merged with a team called Christchurch Rangers in 1886. They called themselves Queens Park Rangers because most of the players came from the district of Queens Park.
Rangers played many friendly matches with Tottenham,Fulham and Stanley.
They started playing on a waste ground near Kensal Rise Athletic Ground and soon were shifted to Welfords Fields bearing a rent of £8 per year.In 1888 Queens Park Rangers started charging for admission and also rented the London Scottish ground at Brondesbury for £20.
As the 2010-11 Football League Championship champions, they now play in the top tier of English football the Premier League, for the first time in 15 years. Other honors comprise on winning the League Cup in 1967, being runners-up in the old First Division in 1975–76 and reaching the final of the FA Cup in 1982.
The 2010–11 season was Queens Park Rangers's 122nd professional season and their 7th consecutive season in the Championship.
