The New Millennium...
Rangers were at 9th and facing promotional challenge for 2000-01 seasons, but ended with a relegation, even with a great first team manager

But the fairy tale ended at the Millennium Stadium when Andy Campbell's goal late in extra time took Cardiff City up to Division One and condemned Rangers to another in year in the third tier of English football. Nonetheless, after a year, the pains would be forgotten when Rangers secured automatic promotion.

Queens Park Rangers FC History :( 1991-2000)
QPR sold England defender Paul Parker for £1.75 million from Manchester United Before 1991-92 season end and in the next season Ray Wegerle for £1 million from Blackburn Rovers. On New Year's Day 1992, before the crowd of 38,554 fans at Old Trafford as well as on live television viewers QPR won against Manchester United 4-1, with Dennis Bailey hitting a hat-trick QPR finished 11th in the League, thus ensuring their place in the new FA Premier League for the next season. In 1992/93, Rangers finished fifth in their first season in the new Premier League. Les Ferdinand hit 20 League goals and was called up to the England squad along with David Bardsley.
Rangers signed winger Trevor Sinclair on £750,000 and defender Steve Yates on £650,000 after the left of Andy Sinton in 1993-94 seasons. After four and a half years with the club, Ray Wilkins joined Crystal Palace on a free transfer. However, he returned to Loftus Road in November 1994 when Gerry Francis left, later to become manager of Tottenham Hotspur. Ray proved to be a very popular choice and QPR played well in the season including two outstanding victories over Arsenal and with a finish of top ten in the 4th consecutive season. During the close season striker Les Ferdinand was sold to Newcastle United for a club record £6,000,000 with £570,000 of the fee going to his former club, Hayes. The loss of England striker Les Ferdinand provided crucial in 1995/96 as Rangers always struggled at the wrong end of the Premiership table. QPR, despite paying over £1million each for Simon Osborn, Australian International Ned Zelic, and Mark Hateley, Rangers lost their fight to stay in the Premier League. In May 1996 the Thompson family announced to sell the club and within three months, media tycoon Chris Wright, owned the club and also announced his plans for Wasps Rugby Union Club to share the Loftus Road ground.
In September 1996, Ray Wilkins left the club by mutual consent and was replaced shortly afterwards by ex-Arsenal Caretaker, Manager Stewart Houston. Former Arsenal Manager Bruce Rioch was also appointed as Assistant Manager. In November 1996, Stewart Houston's, a Scottish International striker John Spencer from Chelsea joined the club for £2.35M. Northern Ireland International Steve Morrow also joined from Arsenal. Queens Park Rangers FC History :( 1981-1990)
In the 1980-81 season the new School End double–decker stand was built, and Terry Venables became the manager on 14th October 1980. In 1981-82, QPR became the First League Club and played and draw with 1—1, FA Cup Final against Tottenham Hotspur. Hoddle scored the only goal from a penalty spot in a replay. In 1982-83, Rangers lost only two of their home League matches and back into First Division. In 1983-84, they fulfilled the task of building their ground to fourth and last stand. In 1984-85, Alan Mullery, for a short period of time, became manager to QPR, as Terry Venables left to join Barcelona. QPR again reached in UEFA Cup and lost against Partizan Belgrade in the Second Round. All seemed well after a 6-2 first leg victory. Yet Rangers conspired to lose the second legt 4-0 and go out on the away goals rule.In July 1985, Jim Smith appointed as a new manger and in upcoming season QPR were badly defeated with 3-0, by Oxford United in Milk Cup at Wembley.
In May 1987, Jim Gregory left the record 22 year Chairmanship of QPR and became Life President. David Bulstrode became his successor and in 1987-88 QPR finished fifth in the First Division.
In September 1988, David Bulstrode left this world forever and later Richard Thompson became the Chairman who spent over £2.5 million on new players Jim Smith went to Newcastle United Peter Shreeve became his successor with Trevor Francis subsequently being appointed player/manager on 14th December. Trevor Francis, in November 1989, left the club and Don Howe was appointed as Head Coach. QPR qualified for the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup, losing to Liverpool. The major signing of that season were comprised on Kenny Sansom, David Bardsley , Roy Wegerle (the club's first £1 million player).
Jan Stejskal, the Czechoslovakian international goalkeeper from Sparta Prague for £625,000 to replace David Seaman who had been sold to Arsenal for £1.3 million. Club Captain Paul Parker returned from the World Cup Finals as an England regular. Bobby Gould joined the club for a brief period between December 1990 and February 1991 before leaving to become manager of West Bromwich Albion. QPR able to score 129 goals in 52 matches and they also have a record of 111 in the Third Division. In 1963, Tony Ingham resigned from QPR’s team. He played 548 matches for QPR.March 1965 saw Jim Gregory as a new chairman to QPR. After his coming QPR finished third in Division Three. In 1966, Jim signed a contract with Rodney Marsh from Fulham for £15,000 to score 134 goals in 242 matches.
In 1966-67 season, QPR won Division Three with 67 points, they also won the League Cup by 3-2 against West Bromwich Albion at Wembley.In 1967-68 QPR finished second in the table and were promoted to First Division. . QPR were relegated after only one season in Division One with only 18 points. Alex Stock left the club, Tommy Docherty came and went in 28 days, and Les Allen took over.
On 7th February 1969 Roger Morgan became the first QPR player to be sold for a six-figure fee. Gordon Jago became the manager in January 1971 and on 8th March 1972 Rodney Marsh was sold to Manchester City for £200,000. In July 1977, Frank Sibley appointed as a manager and resigned a year later due to a relegation by a point. Alec Stock again became the manager until Steve Burtenshaw took over in August.
Phil Parkes was sold to West Ham for £565,000 - a world record for a goalkeeper at the time - having played 406 games for the club. QPR ended the season in 20th place, and were relegated to the Second Division.

Queen Park Rangers were top in the League in 1945-46 season and they also qualify for the 5th round of the Cup, the only time it was played on a two-leg basis. In 1947-48, QPR lost a match against Derby after a replay in 1947-48 season. They also won a promotion to the Second Division for the first time on 26th of April 1948.
After spending four consistent years in Second Division, QPR relegated to Division three in 1952. Dave Mangnall left the club and his place was taken by Jack Taylor. In 1953, under the first floodlights, with an expense of £5,000 on lights at Loftus Road, QPR played a match with Arsenal on 5th of October.
In 1959, Alec Stock was appointed as a manager who signed Bedford from Bournemouth with an agreement to score 180 goals for QPR at the end of 1964-65 season. QPR played at White City again for half a season in 1962 but again poor attendances forced back to Loftus Road.

Queens Park Rangers FC History :( 1921-1940)
Due to some financial issues QPR sold Arthur Chandler to Leicester for £3,000, in 1923-24 and they end up a bottom finish table with 31 points from 42 matches, and had to apply for re-election. For 1925-26, QPR again gone to a bottom finish with 21 points, resulting the lowest ever for the Third Division. Bob Hewison was manager at that time. In 1926/27, after successfully applying for re-election for the second time, they also changed the colors of their shirts to blue and white hoops. In 1927/28 George Goddard set up a new club record by scoring 37 League goals. They also beat Merthyr Town 8-0 - a record score for the club. John Bowman started the 1931/32 season as manager but had to resign due to ill health and Archie Mitchell took over.
QPR shifted to the White City where they won against Leeds United in 3rd round of the Cup before the crowd of 41,097.They again came back to Loftus Road with a loss of £7,000. Mick O'Brien became their new manager and QPR finished fourth in the League. In 1933/34 QPR moved back to Loftus Road, having made a loss of £7,000 whilst they were at the White City.
